FILL THIS SPACE
with your artwork......

Calling all you budding artists out there.... its
competition time!
As a new club we need a new logo, one that will be printed at the top of this newsletter, on
the website and on any other material we publish.
So we need your designs. We are running a competition to find the best design for your
club logo. It is open to any paid up member of the club. Entries can be submitted
to me by post, email, in person etc etc. Just a couple of guidelines -
white or in colour and must be proportioned to be about twice as wide as it is tall. It can’t be
massively detailed as it will be quite small as you can see from the above space. That’s it.
The entries will be judged by your committee and the winner will have the privilege of seeing their artwork in print every month as well as on the
website for the world to see. The competition is open from now until the end of February and the winner will be announced at the March
meeting.
The unpredictable comet 17P Holmes that fi rst came to the public
eye back in September last year is still providing a glorious view to
astronomers. After the spectacular eruption in size and brightness that we
reported in the last newsletter the size of the dust cloud surrounding it has
now increased to over 4 MILLION kilometers across and now looks about
4-
away from us. It is still visible from our dark skies with averted vision near
Algol in Pegasus.
